Respiratory Therapy Department Visits Jena Jr. High School to Talk to the AHEC/Medstart Class

This semester, LGH’s own Dustin Decker, RRT, Director of Cardiopulmonary Services, and Lori Stevenson, RRT, visited Jena Junior High School as part of the Central Louisiana AHEC MedStart Program to introduce students to the world of Respiratory Therapy.

They demonstrated ventilators, nebulizers, pulse oximeters, talked about chest x-rays, and more! This gave students a hands-on look at how Respiratory Therapists care for patients with breathing difficulties and other cardiopulmonary issues. They also shared valuable insight about the education paths and career opportunities in this vital healthcare field.

Thank you to Dustin, Lori, and AHEC for inspiring the next generation of healthcare heroes!
