My name is Jane Singh, I’m a family medicine physician here at LGH. I’ve been working here for two years, and this is going to be my third year now. I absolutely enjoy working here, especially with the people here. My nurse and receptionist are great, and the interactions between all the employees and staff here has just been great. That’s what I absolutely enjoy about working here at LGH.
I see children, I see elderly patients, and everything in between, and that’s one of my favorite things about working here is that I get to see a variety of problems and a variety of ages. The patients that do come in tend to stay, and that is one of the reasons why I chose family medicine, is to have that interaction with my patients and to develop that relationship with them.
The main thing with family medicine is that you really are a family physician. You may see one person in a family, or you may see every individual in that family— whether it be the mom, dad, the children in the family, the grandparents in the family— and so you truly serve the definition of a family physician here.
I’m actually originally from Chicago, and I did my residency in Alexandria at Rapides Hospital through the LSU Family Medicine program. I decided to stay here after seeing how different it was from Chicago in the way that people are and the way that everyone interacts with each other. Everyone will talk to you whether you’re friends with them, or know them, or not, so I truly enjoy the people here.
